CHARLES T. SAUNDERS CPA

Charles T. Saunders, CPA is the managing partner in our firm. He has over 40 years’ experience in providing tax, audit, and accounting services in Norfolk, Virginia. He is a 1971 graduate of Old Dominion University. In addition to his accounting practice, Chuck has volunteered with a number of not-for-profit organizations. He is the past treasurer of ForKids, Inc. , a crisis center and transitional housing organization for homeless families. He served the board of ForKids, Inc. for over 20 years. He is also a board member of the Norfolk State University Foundation, The Hampton Roads Tax Forum, The Wards Corner Lions Club, and the Wards Corner Lions Club Foundation. Chuck is a member of the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants, The American Institute of certified Public Accountants, the Tidewater Chapter of Certified Public Accountants, The Accounts Society of Virginia, and the Hampton Roads Tax Forum. When not in the office or volunteering, Chuck loves to play racquetball, golf, and has a passion for traveling and fishing!

Gregory W. Matthews, CPA

Greg Matthews is a 1988 accounting graduate of Old Dominion University. He worked for his father’s accounting firm until 1997. He operated as a sole practitioner from 1997 until 2005. Greg has been a practicing CPA since 1990 and is a member of the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants, The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, The Tidewater Chapter of Certified Public Accountants, the Accountants Society of Virginia, and the Hampton Roads Tax Forum. Greg has over 20 years of experience working with estates and trusts, individual taxation and small businesses. He concentrates on small business needs such as bookkeeping, payroll, strategic planning and tax preparation. His clients include retail, construction, restaurants, doctors, dentists, manufacturing and various other professional services. Greg was born and raised in Norfolk. He is a huge sports fan and enjoys his twice a week racquetball games. He and his wife have two daughters and live in Virginia Beach.

Jennifer Ann Saunders Pfitzner, MBA CPA

Jenn became a Certified Public Accountant in 2012 and has over 20 years of professional experience providing tax and accounting services to individuals and small businesses. She loves working with multigenerational families and family businesses. She is a graduate of Maury High School, earned her Bachelor of Science in Business / Economics and Accounting with a minor in English / Literature from Randolph-Macon College, and obtained her Masters of Business Administration with a concentration in Taxation from Virginia Commonwealth University. She is the treasurer of ForKids, Inc and the Maury Foundation. She is the president of the Wards Corner Lions Club and Wards Corner Lions Foundation. She holds board positions with the Randolph-Macon Yellow Jacket Club and Cedar Point Ladies Golf Association. She is a lifetime member of Alpha Phi Omega. She is a 2016 graduation of the CIVIC Leadership Institute, a 2007 Top 40 Under 40 honoree (Inside Business), a 2017 Women in Business honoree (Inside Business), and 2023 Barron F. Black Community Builder Award Recipient (Hampton Roads Community Foundation). Jenn has worked with the firm since 2003 and became partner in 2013 changing the name to Saunders, Matthews & Pfitzner, PLLC. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants, Tidewater Chapter of VSCPA, Accountant’s Society of Virginia, and the Hampton Roads Tax Forum. Jenn and her husband Travis have two children (Henry and Ainsley) and the office dog (Lager). When not in the office, she can be found golfing at Cedar Point Club or spending time with her family and their many sporting and music events.

steve sandoval, cpa

Steve became a Certified Public Accountant in 2008 and a partner with Saunders, matthews & Pfitzner, PLLC in 2026. He has more than 25 years of experience providing tax services to both individuals and all types of businesses. He specializes in payroll, QuickBooks bookkeeping, tax planning and tax resolution, with a strong focus on long-term client relationships. Steve is a graduate of First Colonial High School in virginia Beach and holds a bachelors degrees from Radford University and Old Dominion University. He is a member of the AICPA, the Virginia Society of Cpas, and the Tidewater Chapter of the VSCPA. He has served on serval community and professional roles, inclluding as a member of the Old Dominion University Alumni Advisory Council and he serves on the City of Virginia Beach Audit Committee. Steve also volunteers with the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program each tax season, the Virginia Beach SPCA and the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia. He is an avid Old Dominion University sports supporter, inlcuding the Lady Monarch’s Soccer and Basketball teams. He also enjoys golfing and spending time with family and friends.
